Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility

A group of concerned citizens pushing for fiscal responsibility in Bridgewater

We encourage all citizens to Vote No on the $1.36 million tax increase. Remember to Vote on Saturday, June 14th at the Old High School/New Middle School!

If the override passes, not a single new police officer or firefighter will be added. And if it fails, not a single firefighter or police officer will be laid off. Despite pronouncements by some on public television and in the newspapers that much of this tax increase is going to public safety, only 2% of the override is directed toward funding the police department budget and less than 4% is earmarked for the fire department budget.

Don’t be fooled … Vote No on June 16th.

This post is the first in a series of quick facts about the override. To view them all visit the Override Facts page.
